Apply for your first provisional licence.
Before applying for your first provisional licence you need to be at least 15 years and 9 months old and be able to read a number plate from 20 metres. You will need your passport number, national insurance number and a payment card.

Book your theory test.
You must have lived in England, Wales or Scotland for at least 185 days in the last 12 months before the day you take your theory or driving test. To book your theory test you will need your UK driving license number, your email address and payment card.

Book your car practical test.
This is the moment that you have been working so hard for, make sure that your instructor is confident that now is the right time to book your test and that your theory test is still valid (2 years from that date that you passed). You must have lived in England, Scotland or Wales for at least 185 days and you will need your provisional licence number together with your payment card.

On your practical test you will be asked one ‘tell me’ question before you start driving and a ‘show me’ question whilst driving along.
